Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy & Neurodiversity Support Services
Raintree Therapy Services provides neurodiversity-affirming speech-language therapy that supports children’s communication, connection, and confidence in the environments where they learn and grow best. We see children in their homes, daycares, schools, or in the community in West Pasco and North Pinellas Counties. Virtual (teletherapy) services are available throughout the state of Florida.
Jocelyn Richardson, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist with more than 25 years of experience supporting children with a wide range of communication needs. She is licensed to practice in the state of Florida and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Throughout her career, Jocelyn has worked with children across many stages of development—from early intervention (birth to age three) through high school, as well as some developmentally delayed young adults. Her experience spans a variety of settings, including schools, homes, daycares, private clinics, and teletherapy services.
Jocelyn’s approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that all play is valid and functional, behavior is communication, and children do well when they can. She focuses on meeting children where they are and supporting communication in ways that feel natural, meaningful, and respectful of each child’s unique strengths.
Raintree Therapy Services embraces the neurodiversity paradigm. We do not aim to change or hide a child’s neurology. Instead, our goal is to support children in communicating their needs and wants and in participating fully in their daily lives.
We also work with families and caregivers to better understand each child’s unique communication style and to create environments that support and accommodate those differences.
At Raintree Therapy Services, therapy is centered on respect, autonomy, and meaningful communication. Compliance is never the goal, and we do not use or recommend behaviorist methodologies.
An evaluation appointment typically lasts one to two hours, depending on the age and needs of the child. Areas assessed may include

Play is the work of childhood — and also how children learn best.
At Raintree Therapy Services, therapy is play-based and purposeful. We do not rely on memorization or repetitive drill work. Instead, we use meaningful, child-led activities that support communication development in natural ways.
Activities are carefully adjusted to provide the right level of challenge while still allowing children to feel successful, motivated, and engaged. Whenever possible, movement is incorporated into sessions to support focus, participation, and retention of new skills.
Therapy sessions may address a variety of skill areas, including:
Sessions are typically scheduled for 30 minutes to one hour, one to four times per week, depending on the child’s individual needs.
Teletherapy services are also available for families who prefer that option.
